Kells 41st Annual St. Patrick’s Irish Festival - SEATTLE

Every year, thousands of people from around the world flock to Kells St. Patrick’s Irish Festival. This year is no different at our iconic Kells Irish Restaurant, located in Seattle’s Post Alley, for this 41st annual celebration!

Starting on Friday, March 8th (which would have been our founder, Joe McAleese’s, 91st birthday), the festivities will include live Irish music, dancing, traditional foods, and so much more! Our festival will run from Friday, March 8th, straight through to Sunday, St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th. The tented area will provide extra room for our revelers in Post Alley & 1st Ave (which will be closed to through traffic) to celebrate all things Irish. There will be activities in our 4 inside areas: back bar, front restaurant, banquet facility, and 1st Ave. This year will include our new Hidden Gem, 1st Avenue bar & event space, which will have another 2500 square feet of fun, marking Kells' first-time presence on 1st Avenue, and offering magnificent views of Elliot Bay. We will have something for everyone.

As always, our menu offers an array of traditional dishes like corned beef, authentic Irish stew, Ballycastle Sausage Rolls, and Ethna’s Irish Soda Bread (baked daily on Kells’ premises). For a real taste of Ireland, you can enjoy a tantalizing selection of beers from our own Kells Brewery in Portland – choose from Kells Lager, Kells Pilsner, Kells Irish Red Ale, Kells IPA, Kells Pale Ale, or Kells Irish Stout.

So why not join us for great food, excellent company, and much celebration this Saint Patrick’s Day?! We look forward to welcoming you and your friends to this epic event.

Admission details and live music line-up are provided in the schedule below. With live music beginning on Friday, March 8th, and running until St. Patrick’s Day Sunday, March 17th. Kells will have an event for everyone!

David Garbers

Garbers is a solo acoustic live-looping artist from Botswana that uses a guitar and a shaker to live-record beats and rhythms, building creative songs that are full sounding, and entertaining. In 2003, David Garbers began pursuing his musical journey writing songs as a way to journal his life and make something that would outlast him. He found that playing music with friends was a bond that felt a bit deeper. Starting the childhood band USED2Bsyris, the 3 piece rock unit took Garbers north to England where he had a chance encounter with Paul McCartney in 2007, and in retreat for a more stable way of life he studied Audio Engineering in 2008. He has since toured internationally as a professional sound engineer, played in 7 different bands (most notably 4 piece alternative rock act South of Nine) gaining radio play in South Africa with songs 'Circles' and 'Jozi'. He has performed on stages alongside musical icons in multiple countries and over the years Garbers has not only performed his own music in front of thousands of people, but he won a lottery, relocating him from Johannesburg to Denver, CO in late 2019. Now residing in Seattle, WA and armed with his fourth and latest single, ‘Existence’, Garbers hopes to share his story and inspire others to follow their dreams too.

Belfast Bandits

The Belfast Bandits play a crowd-pleasing mix of upbeat folk songs, covers of Celtic-rock and folk-rock bands, and traditional Irish jigs and reels. Since forming in 2014, they have been a staple of the Seattle pub music scene. Expect a high energy show where you'll sing along, clap your hands, and get up to dance!
With music and events beginning on Thurdsday, March 7th and culminating on the big day, Sunday, March 17th, Kells will have something for everyone!!
